Where have I been? I was taking a long exhale...
Writing the songs from my first album, Take Me As I Am, and re-working them (for years...gulp!), recording Stop, Drop & Roll (The Fireman Song) single and releasing it, then recording and producing Take Me As I Am in the studio, releasing the album at the jam-packed release party with a phenomenal band (and with the BEST firemen ...who showed up in their blazing red truck...and handed out t-shirts and greeted guests), not to mention battling perfectionism and "what will the world think??" self-talk during this whole journey..... well, it was a ride!
Releasing "Take Me As I Am" demanded my total focus, time, energy, heart and soul... and it made me grow.
From start to finish it was a full-out dream come true and looking back I wouldn't change a thing. I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to make music. Not to mention, create and be inspired and supported alongside incredible musicians, producers and my friends in the songwriting community.
But when the siren stopped and the band went home, it felt good to rest, reflect and just BE for a little while.
Now I'm coming out of hibernation and I'm SO stoked about the next wave of songs that have overtaken me. They are getting ready to show themselves to the world and I can barely sit still in anticipation...
Thank you so much for hanging tight, for all your support and for being with me on this journey. I will keep you posted as my new songs begin to fall.
P.S. THE FIREMAN SONG VIDEO UPDATE: I also want to give the dear firemen an update about the video I wanted to release a while back, featuring photos from their smokin' hot calendars & their heartwarming fundraising causes. Dear Firemen: I have not forgotten you. I am so sorry it's taken me so long to get the Stop, Drop & Roll (The Fireman Song) video released. I want you to know how much I appreciate all of you who stepped up and sent photos, kind words of encouragement and your phenomenal fundraising stats. I still have the desire to release this video but for a variety of reasons, the pieces weren't coming together as quickly as I would have liked and I have strong resistance to putting out anything that isn't my best effort. I think that it hasn't come together yet because a better video is in store - highlighting all the good you do and fundraising causes you support. As it unfolds, you will be the first to know. Thank you again for all your support and for all you do for all of us!!!
